This beautiful vintage Stag Minstrel console dates from the 1960s and was designed by renowned British husband-and-wife design duo John and Sylvia Reid. The Minstrel range is particularly sought after for its elegant proportions, timeless styling and enduring quality.

I’ve given this original piece a sophisticated new direction in a deep, rich black with a subtle sheen. The finish beautifully accentuates the architectural lines of the console, while the six understated round handles blend seamlessly into the design.

The piece has been very lightly distressed by hand, just enough to soften the depth of the black and bring out some of its character and history, whilst retaining an overall refined and contemporary feel.

With six generous drawers, this is as practical as it is beautiful. Its elegant proportions make it wonderfully versatile - imagine it styled in a hallway beneath a large piece of artwork, in a living room filled with books and collected treasures, or as a sophisticated dressing table in a bedroom.
