How The Colours In Your Home Can Impact Your Mood
The decor of a space has the ability to impact your mood because it can evoke emotions and influence your sensory experiences. For example, bright colours, natural light, and clutter-free spaces tend to create a positive atmosphere, while dark colours, poor lighting, and clutter can cause feelings of stress or negativity. Having personal items and familiar objects in a space can also evoke happy memories and positive emotions.
The colours we surround ourselves with can influence our energy levels, stress levels, and overall well-being. Understanding how different colours affect our moods can help us make more calculated decisions when it comes to decorating our homes so that they will work better for us.

Here I have paired a neutral colour scheme with textured rugs and cushions to balance the room and add interest for a calming and tranquil space
.
One of the most calming colours is blue. The colour blue is known to have a soothing effect on the mind and body, making it a great choice for bedrooms and bathrooms. Blue is also believed to promote feelings of tranquility and serenity, making it an ideal choice for a home office or meditation room.

This blue chest of drawers I have painted evokes feelings of sophistication and calm, whilst adding depth and interest to an otherwise neutral space

Green is another calming colour that is associated with nature and growth, and is believed to promote feelings of calm and balance, whilst yellow is a cheerful and energising colour that can be used to bring a sense of warmth and positivity to a space. Yellow is known to boost moods and inspire creativity. It's perfect for bathrooms, bedrooms and home office.

Red is the colour of passion and energy, and it can be used to create a sense of excitement and drama in a space. However, it's not recommended to use red in a bedroom as it can be too stimulating. Purple is associated with luxury and wealth, and can be used to create a sense of elegance and sophistication in a space. It's also associated with creativity, so it could be used in a home office or an art studio.
White is a clean and crisp colour that can create a sense of spaciousness and simplicity in a space. It's perfect for minimalist and modern design.

It’s important to remember the colour you choose to paint your walls can greatly affect the mood and energy in your space. So when choosing your colour schemes, think about the emotions and feelings you want to evoke in that room and choose a colour that will support those emotions.
