Autumn and Winter Interior Trends 2022

Autumn and Winter Interior Trends 2022

This year has seen the return of pattern, colour and all things maximalism when it comes to your interiors, but what is in, this Autumn/Winter? 🍁🍂
Candy colours and Barbie pink are big right now for Autumn/Winter. So if you have head down the maximalism route this year, it is good to know that colours are hanging around. Personally, I like to balance brights with neutrals and natural materials. My favourites to introduce are seagrass and woven baskets, hessian and jute rugs, along with the layering of soft linens and other beautiful textures. If you want to hop on the candy colours and Barbie pink trend, but the thought of that scares you a little, then accessories can allow you to be experimental. You can give your home an uplift just by switching up your accessories and it’s also relatively affordable to do so! Start small with some candy colour pillar candles or a pink statement pillow and go from there!

Boucle has been popular for a while now, it’s a trend I personally love and have in my wardrobe as well as using for decor. I recently managed to pick up a boucle chair from Dunelm that was discontinued for £34.75 , yes you read that correctly, thirty four seventy five!!! My cream boucle chair is one of my favourite pieces in my living room because its texture gives me all the warm and cosy vibes. The great thing with boucle is that it’s durable and looks great all year round! Why not add some boucle cushions to your sofa and even try out some of the brighter colour boucle accessories to add a little pop of colour and hit two trends at once!

Mirrored and high shine finishes
are another trend you can expect to see more of this Autumn and Winter! Again if you want to dip your toe in the water, start of with some mirrored accessories such as a tray, vase or a statement mirror for your wall. But if you want to go all out, why not try some mirrored furniture pieces?!

I really love this mirrored tray I found on Dunelm, and the fluted glass makes it look much more expensive than it is at only £15.00

As ever warm and dark hues rear their beautiful head for the cooler weather to come. There is something so cosy about being enveloped in a room painted in dark earthy tones, whilst your favourite scented candles flicker and create a wonderful atmospheric glow! Sage green is my most favourite darker shade. If you love it too, try pairing sage greens with even darker green tones to create a really timeless and cosy vibe. Don’t forget to add cosy textures and introduce other warm colours through your fabrics and textiles!

Mid-century modern has been huge so far this year, but as we move into these cooler seasons with candy colours and bold earthy hues coming in to play, the MCM trend is going to take on a more 70s vibe. Using vintage pieces of furniture, glassware and artwork are a really strong yet easy way to create a cosy and autumnal feel. Distressed and raw wood finishes are also more popular at this time of year as they have an effortless way of creating that rustic, homely and cosy feel we are all striving to achieve! Check out your local charity shops or even car boot sales to pick up a vintage find, usually you can find an absolute gem as often people are unaware of the beauty in what they are getting rid of! I also have some rather beautiful redesigned pieces for you here to take a look at!
