Get Your Home Ready For Spring

Get Your Home Ready For Spring

A spring clean is a term most of us have heard of before, but this can mean something different for each of us. It might be pulling all the beds out and cleaning underneath them, re organising all of your kitchen cabinets and deep cleaning your carpets. For me there are four things that I love to do every year before spring hits. It makes me feel like I’ve got my s&*t together and organised going in to the new season!
.
Spring wardrobe edit
Spring is the perfect time to declutter and have a good old wardrobe sort out! This is the time of year where I like to switch my clothes over, and swap in some lighter clothes and start packing away the heavy jumpers, although I do hold back one or two, because British weather, right?

Seasonal declutter
It isn’t just your wardrobe that can benefit from a seasonal edit.
That sideboard that’s over flowing?
The garage that is overwhelmingly unorganised?
Take it one drawer or one section at a time. Trust me, you will feel calmer heading in to the new season a little more organised.
I often buy bits in end of season sales for the following year and I then totally forget about them! So by making sure I have a seasonal declutter I always find and make use of last years bargains!

Patio spruce up
It’s time to dust off the outdoor dining set and jet wash the patio because it won’t be long before we will be hosting in the garden again *she says with everything crossed*!
This year my favourite outdoor trend is a garden rug. I think they are a great and affordable way to add some colour to your garden and they really make it look like you’ve got your s*%t together!
Plant up your pots and hanging baskets with some pretty bedding plants and make sure your BBQ is clean and ready to go! After all we live in the UK and as we all know our weather is somewhat sporadic!

New bedding
Being completely transparent I keep the same tog duvet all year round, I wear thicker pjs in winter and lay on top of the covers in summer, however, I do like to wash my duvet at the start of each spring and I also love to change up the duvet cover set to something fresh and perhaps florally to bring in the spring/summer vibes. I also pack away all the extra blankets and throws accumulated throughout the autumn/winter.
Did you know you should wash your duvet at least every three to six months?

So that’s my top four things to get spring ready, do you have any ideas that you think we could all benefit from? If so leave them in the comments below!
